A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in one of the 15 commando group other ranks messes on 4 deck between stations 96 and 177, looking between two three tier bunk units and showing kit lockers with coat hooks on the sides. More kit lockers and bunks are beyond an open watertight hatch. A vertical format negative.
