A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the junior rates and other ranks dining hall on 4 deck between stations 40 and 64. He is looking aft and to port showing rows of tables and chairs with the port side scullery in the background. An open watertight hatch is close to the aft bulkhead with a bollard hoist on the left and a drinking water cooler in front of it.
