A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the junior rates and other ranks dining hall on 4 deck between stations 40 and 64. He is looking forward and to port showing rows of tables and chairs with two watertight doors in the forward bulkhead. Automatic emergency lanterns are by the side of each door.
