A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the junior rates and other ranks dining hall on 4 deck between stations 40 and 64. He is looking aft and to starboard showing rows of tables and chairs with the starboard scullery beyond them. The scullery roller shutter is open and a man is standing at the counter. A cook and another man are in the hall. Two watertight hatches are close to the aft bulkhead and a bollard hoist is between them. A tannoy is on the pillar on the left.
