Hermes (1953). In the N.B.C.D headquarters on 5 deck during conversion.

A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the N.B.C.D. headquarters on 5 deck to starboard of the centreline between 116 and 123 stations. He is looking to port from the forward end of the compartment showing deck plans of the ship on the forward bulkhead. Two large lockers are against the port bulkhead and six circular gauges are between them.
