A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the N.B.C.D. headquarters on 5 deck to starboard of the centreline between 116 and 123 stations. He is looking starboard and forward showing a desk with two telephones in the left foreground. Notices are pinned to a board in the corner of the compartment. A long desk fitted with communications equipment is on the starboard bulkhead. Two men in working rig are on the right.
