A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the junior rates and other ranks dining hall and counter area on 4 deck between 40 and 50 stations. He is looking forward and to port showing tables and chairs laid out. On the port bulkhead is a speaker and an automatic emergency lantern next to the door. A cupboard, cable stowage and a fire hose point are on the forward bulkhead.
