A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the junior rates and other ranks dining hall and counter area on 4 deck between 40 and 50 stations. He is looking aft and to starboard from the centre of the hall showing a table and chairs laid out in the foreground. On the aft bulkhead are two watertight doors and the one on the right has a fire extinguisher below the automatic emergency lantern. The self service counters are on the left. Each counter has a waste bag at the end.
