A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the junior rates and other ranks dining hall and counter area on 4 deck between 40 and 50 stations. He is looking forward from between the self service counter and the starboard bulkhead. Two cool cabinets are in the centre of the counter and extension cable reels are between the warm tray and the cool cabinet. A watertight door is in the aft bulkhead with a cable stowage near it. A tannoy and a cupboard are on the starboard bulkhead.
