A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the junior rates and other ranks dining hall and counter area on 4 deck between 40 and 50 stations. He is looking forward and to starboard from the end of the aft counter. A wire display stand containg small boxes of corn flakes is in the right foreground. Two cool cabinets are in the centre of the main counter with extension cable reels and four hot drinks cylinders on them. The plate counter on the left has a waste bag on the end of it. A watertight door is in the aft bulkhead with an automatic emergency lantern next to it.
