Hermes (1953) in Plymouth Sound

A 35mm roll film negative. A slightly distant starboard bow view, taken from wide off the bow, of the commando carrier Hermes (1953) at anchor in Plymouth Sound in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. Her pendant number is R12. A Westland Wessex HU.5 helicopter is on her forward flight deck.
