A port bow view of the Cunard Line cruise ship Carinthia (1925) at anchor in the Saltsjon at Stockholm, Sweden
A slightly distant port side view, taken from well ahead of the beam, of the Cunard Line cruise ship Carinthia (1925) at anchor in the Saltsjon at Stockholm, Sweden. The ship is in white hull livery, is dressed overall, has an accommodation ladder rigged to a shell door amidships and has two of her boats missing from their davits. A steam tug or tender is close alongside her port quarter. The photographer is in an elevated position in the Sodermalm district looking east showing the cranes and wharves on the south side of the Saltsjon. A steam or motor yacht is alongside the Kastelholmen on the left and in the right background is the Danvikshem home for the elderly, a spectacular National Romantic style building perched atop a hill overlooking the entrance to Stockholm Harbour. See negative number P83482 for a similar view taken during the late evening.
