A port side view of the Cunard Line cruise ship Carinthia (1925) at anchor in the Saltsjon at Stockholm, Sweden.

A slightly distant port side view, taken from well ahead of the beam, of the Cunard Line cruise ship Carinthia (1925) at anchor in the Saltsjon at Stockholm, Sweden. The ship is in white hull livery, is dressed overall, has an accommodation ladder rigged to a shell door amidships and has two of her boats missing from their davits. She also has mooring lines out aft to a buoy. The photographer is on a quayside in the Sodermalm district looking east showing shipping, cranes and wharves on the south side of the Saltsjon. Four tugs are berthed alongside in the foreground including the Bull (fl. 1932) and the Greb (fl. 1932). Kastelholmen island is on the left and in the background to the right of centre is the Danvikshem home for the elderly, a spectacular National Romantic style building perched atop a hill overlooking the entrance to Stockholm Harbour.
