A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in No. 10 dry dock in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is on the port side of the flight deck at about station 170 looking down and aft showing the walkway and the MRS3 director for the GWS22 seacat missile system. Ahead of the MRS3 director are the crutches for the stowage of two dories. Berthed alongside in the Prince of Wales No. 5 Basin is the laid up landing ship tank Messina (1945), pendant L3043. A vertical format negative.
