Hermes (1953). In No. 10 dry dock in the north dockyard at Devonport, Devonshire.

A 35mm roll film negative. The starboard side of the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in No. 10 dry dock in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is looking forward from wide off the stern showing the side of the ship from the bow to just abaft the forward LCVP position. The tip of the type 957 Tacan on the mainmast is just out of the picture.
