A port side view of the Cunard Line cruise ship Carinthia (1925) at anchor in Geirangerfjord, off Merok, Norway.

A port side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the Cunard Line cruise ship Carinthia (1925) at anchor in Geirangerfjord off Merok, Norway. Her starboard anchor is deployed and she has an accommodation ladder rigged from her port midships shell doors. Numbers 2 and 16 lifeboats are missing from their falls and are alongside the accommodation ladder. The ship has a black hull and the photographer is in a boat heading away from her. From 1932 the ship's hull was painted white. The mountains in the background are partially obscured by low cloud. The emulsion of the negative is badly discoloured.
