On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in No. 10 dry dock in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in an unidentified officer's cabin aft on 4 deck. The cabin is occupied and the officer's selection of ties are hanging on a rail of the left. The photographer is looking inboard showing a wardrobe and a wash basin with toiletries cabinet above. A vertical format negative. Negatives numbers PM3144/15, PM3144/16 and PM3144/17 are all taken in this cabin.
