On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in an unidentified junior rates or other ranks mess on the forward end of 4 or 5 deck. He is looking at a settee with drawers under, a table with a spitoon under, and a chair. On the left is a door with an automatic emergency lantern beside it. A colour negative. Negatives numbers PM3147/14CN and PM3147/15CN are very similar.
