A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in an unidentified junior rates or other ranks mess on the forward end of 4 or 5 deck. On the left is a stand easy tea cupboard, a triple tier bunk unit rigged for sleeping, kit lockers and a triple tier bunk unit rigged for sitting. Against the end bulkhead are kit lockers and more kit lockers and another triple tier bunk unit are on the right. In the right foreground is a Lec domestic refrigerator. A colour negative. Negatives numbers PM3148/20CN and PM3148/21CN are very similar.
