On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is on the port side of the hangar at 140 station on 3 deck looking to starboard. On the starboard bulkhead are a fire extinguisher, an A/C hydraulic serving trolley hose, a twin cylinder CO2 trolley unit stowage point, a drop tank winch, A NATO air panel, drop tank handling gear, fire curtain gear rods and an avcat hose reel.
