A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is on the port side of the hangar at 100 station on 3 deck looking to starboard. On the starboard bulkhead are the bomb lift, an HP/LP air panel, an HP air panel, a first aid cabinet and cable reels. Stored high up on the hangar wall are spare helicopter rotor blades. On the deck are two hand-operated fork trollies, a dustbin and a pile of wooden packing boards.
