A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is looking into the ground equipment storing and servicing area at the fore end of the hangar between 50 and 65 stations on 3 deck. He is looking forward and to starboard from 66 station on the port side showing storage racks with a work bench between them on the left. Two steel work units are on the forward bulkhead, each fitted with two vices. Three automatic emergency lanterns and two first aid cabinets are mounted on the forward bulkhead.
