A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the ground equipment storing and servicing area at the fore end of the hangar between 50 and 65 stations on 3 deck. He is looking to starboard from the port side showing a watertight door, cupboards, a breathing apparatus cabinet, a FRAM filter unit and another cupboard on the starboard bulkhead. Stacks of folding tables are in the foreground.
