A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) alongside 6 and 7 wharves in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in early July 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the port flight (1) deck walkway looking forward towards the deck edge lift from 138 station. A fire fighting hose is in the foreground with an avcat fuel pump and hose beyond and a deck edge light between them. The ship's brow, some large containers and a dockyard mobile crane are on the flight deck. The aircraft carrier Ark Royal (1950) can be seen in the background berthed at No. 5 wharf. A vertical format negative.
