A 35 mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) alongside 6 and 7 wharves in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in early July 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the port flight (1) deck walkway looking to port from 146 station. A perforated steel plate is in the foreground with a cable reel beyond it. Empty paint drums are on the flight deck on the right. The commando carrier Bulwark (1948) is in the Prince of Wales No. 5 basin in the background. A vertical format negative.
