A 35 mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) alongside 6 and 7 wharves in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in early July 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the port flight (1) deck walkway looking aft from 208 station. An avcat fuel pump unit and two cable reels are in the corner of the walkway beyond the scaffold board. Two men are removing their overalls on the flight deck. the submarine depot ship Forth (1938) is alongside 8 wharf in the background. A vertical format negative.
