A 35 mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) alongside 6 and 7 wharves in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in early July 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the starboard flight (1) deck walkway looking aft from 197 station. In the foreground is an avcat fuel pump unit with a steel locker marked 'R.U. locker 3½ lbs S & F Floats' beyond it. A ladder is leading up to the flight deck. The submarine depot ship Forth (1938) with the submarine Andrew (1946) alongside are berthed at number 8 wharf in the background. A vertical format negative.
