A 35 mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) alongside 6 and 7 wharves in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in early July 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the starboard flight (1) deck walkway looking aft from 173 station. A fire point with chemical foam locker, two cable reels and stowage for wheel chocks are in the walkway. The aft davit for the aft LCVP (landing craft vehicle and personnel) and the boat crane are on the left with liferaft stowage beyond. The submarine depot ship Forth (1938) and the submarine Andrew (1946) are alongside number 8 wharf in the background. A vertical format negative.
