A 35 mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) alongside 6 and 7 wharves in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in early July 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the starboard flight (1) deck walkway looking forward from 156 station showing an aircraft servicing power outlet, a steel ladder, a cupboard and three cable reels. A pile of scaffold poles, the RAS (replenishment at sea) outhaul winch and three oxy-acetylene trollies are on the flight deck. The boat crane is in the background. A vertical format negative.
