On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) alongside 6 and 7 wharves in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in early July 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is on the walkway on the port side of the flight (1) deck at 14 station looking aft showing two cable reels, a chemical foam locker and an avcat fuel pump unit. A vertical format negative.
