Hermes (1953) in the north yard at HM Dockyard, Devonport. On the flight (1) deck walkway during conversion.

A 35 mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) alongside 6 and 7 wharves in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in early July 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is on the walkway on the port side of the flight (1) deck at 31 station looking aft showing the supply hose to an avcat fuel pump unit in the left foreground and a fire hose point in the background. Two hoses are hanging across the walkway from the flight deck. A large crane and a towing vehicle registered 3073RN are on the flight deck The ship's pendant number is R12. A vertical format negative.
