A 35 mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) alongside 6 and 7 wharves in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in early July 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is on the forward sponson on the port side of the flight (1) deck at 50 station looking aft showing the end of the angled flight deck. On the walkway in front of the flight deck are an avcat fuel pump unit and a fire point with chemical foam locker. Containers are on the flight deck. The stern of the landing platform dock Fearless (1963) can be seen under the crane in Prince of Wales Number 5 dock on the right.
