On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) alongside 6 and 7 wharves in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in early July 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the walkway under the angled flight (1) deck on the port side at 57 station looking aft and to port showing an avcat fuel pump unit on a raised platform.
