On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) alongside 6 and 7 wharves in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in early July 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the walkway in front of the angled flight (1) deck on the port side at 65 station looking aft. An earthing box is in the right foreground and a deck edge lift warning lamp box is on the end bulkhead. Containers and other items are on the deck edge lift. A vertical format negative.
