On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) alongside 6 and 7 wharves in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in early July 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is looking forward into the port walkway abaft the deck edge lift alongside the flight (1) deck on the port side at 89 station, showing an avcat fuel pump unit. A vertical format negative.
