A 35 mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) alongside 6 and 7 wharves in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in early July 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is on the flight (1) deck at 66 station looking aft and to starboard into the corner of the deck edge walkway showing the escape hatch from the squadron lay apart stores on the gallery (2) deck. Scaffolding is erected round the end of the walkway.
