A 35 mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) alongside 6 and 7 wharves in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in early July 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the starboard walkway of the flight (1) deck at 54 station looking aft showing a cable reel on the extreme right with a R.U. Locker for Marker Marine No. 4, a fire point with chemical foam locker and an avcat fuel pump unit. on the left are pieces of unknown equipment. Scaffolding is over the end of the walkway before the alaskan highway. On the flight deck is the RAS (replenishment at sea) outhaul winch. A vertical format negative.
