A 35 mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) alongside 6 and 7 wharves in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in early July 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the starboard walkway of the flight (1) deck at 52 station looking forward and to port showing the hose and nozzle of an avcat fuel pump unit on the left, an aircraft servicing power outlet and three lockers. The aircraft carrier Ark Royal (1950) is alongside number 5 wharf in the background.
