A 35 mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) alongside 6 and 7 wharves in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in early July 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the starboard walkway of the flight (1) deck at 35 station looking aft showing a scupper with a locker beyond it. On the flight deck are the RAS (replenishment at sea) outhaul winch, a lorry mounted Simon telescopic platform registered 16RN22, a fork lift truck, a Coles mobile crane, an aircraft towing vehicle registered 5166RN and a large mobile crane.
