A 35 mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) alongside 6 and 7 wharves in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in early July 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the starboard walkway of the flight (1) deck at 32 station looking forward showing the break in the grating where the lattice mast for the FU1 aircraft direction finder aerial can be retracted. A fire hose point and chemical foam locker are beyond the break.
