A 35 mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) alongside 6 and 7 wharves in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in early July 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is on the alaskan highway on the starboard side of the flight (1) deck at 81 station looking to port and aft at the forward end of the island superstructure. The watertight door to the 28 volt rectifier compartment is wide open and the fan vents are also open. All of the cables and hoses on the extreme right are on the forward bulkhead of the island.
