A 35 mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) alongside 6 and 7 wharves in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in early July 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is on the alaskan highway on the starboard side of the flight (1) deck at 114 station looking aft and slightly to port at the island superstructure. RAS (replenishment at sea) lockers and cordage reels are under the 01 deck overhang, a locker marked 'signal gun sound Mk. 40' and two lockers marked 'D.C. Mk.II Primer and fitted pistol and a light cordage reel are on the right. The boat crane is in the background.
