A 35 mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) alongside the east wall in the Prince of Wales Number 5 Dock in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in early July 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is on the port side of the flight (1) deck at 98 station looking forward showing the glide path indicator in position. An air craft servicing power outlet is in the walkway in the foreground and an avcat fuel pump unit is at the end of the walkway. A whip aerial is on the left. In the background is the Admiralty Floating Dock 58 (1957) with a submarine undergoing a refit. A vertical format negative.
