A starboard side view of the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company passenger liner and cruise ship Chusan (1950) at anchor in an unknown French Mediterranean coast location.
A starboard side view, taken from well abaft the beam, of the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company passenger liner and cruise ship Chusan (1950) at anchor in an unknown French Mediterranean coast location. Her port anchor is deployed and she is flying the French courtesy flag at the foremast head. She is fitted with a Thornycroft type funnel cap. Beached in the background with her bow doors open is the United States Navy tank landing ship LST 880 (1944). The photographer is looking across the anchorage from an elevated position on shore. Negatives numbers N83518 to N83523 inclusive were taken on the same occasion. The acetate negative has a blue discolouration and is showing the early signs of reticulation.
