A roll film negative. On board the Tribal class type 81 frigate Mohawk (1962) in Portsmouth Dockyard. She was in a dry dock from 21 March to 11 April 1972 when she moved to the South Railway Jetty. The junior rate's dining hall between 50 and 56 stations on the port side of 2 deck. The photographer is looking forward and to port from the centre of the hall showing four tables and bench seats arranged in two athwartships rows. Glass fronted bookcases are against the port side of the ship. An international compressed air breathing apparatus cabinet, a magazine rack, a tannoy, a loudspeaker, two electric toasters on a shelf and a television set are on the forward bulkhead. A fire extinguisher is in the forward lobby. A temporary paper screen is being used to prevent access while a large bore armoured fuel hose is on the deck.
