Mohawk (1962). The junior rate's dining hall between 50 and 56 stations on the port side of 2 deck.
A roll film negative. On board the Tribal class type 81 frigate Mohawk (1962) in Portsmouth Dockyard. She was in a dry dock from 21 March to 11 April 1972 when she moved to the South Railway Jetty. The junior rate's dining hall between 50 and 56 stations on the port side of 2 deck. The photographer is looking to starboard from the centre of the hall showing four tables and bench seats arranged in three athwartships rows and another table with bench seats arranged fore-and-aft. On the bulkhead on the left are cutlery racks. Next to these racks is the open door to the fuel filling position and a large bore armoured hose is passing into this space. The hose is protected by a paper screen just above the deck which has been laid out to prevent access during refuelling. An hot water dispensing counter and a rack containing breakfast cereals are next to the fuel filling position. The door to the C.P.O's and P.O's dining hall is in the starboard bulkhead. A cold water drinking fountain is on the right.
