A roll film negative. On board the Tribal class type 81 frigate Mohawk (1962) in Portsmouth Dockyard. She was in a dry dock from 21 March to 11 April 1972 when she moved to the South Railway Jetty. The junior rate's dining hall between 50 and 56 stations on the port side of 2 deck. The photographer is looking to starboard and aft from the forward end of the hall showing a table with bench seats arranged fore-and-aft. An hot water dispenser is on the left. The access hatch and the door to the scullery are in the starboard bulkhead. A stairway leading up to 1 deck, the fan chamber access door, a cold water drinking fountain and three gas cylinders are in or adjoining the aft bulkhead. A paper screen is laid down the stairway and across the deck to prevent access during refuelling.
