A roll film negative. On board the Tribal class type 81 frigate Mohawk (1962) in Portsmouth Dockyard. She was in a dry dock from 21 March to 11 April 1972 when she moved to the South Railway Jetty. In the steering gear compartment between 85 and 95 stations on 2 deck. The photographer is looking forward from the aft end on the port side showing a double locker and a wire mesh fronted cage on the port side. A wire cage surrounding the steering gear is on the right and an electric fire is mounted on it. Nests of drawers labelled 'A.S.C. stowage' are against the forward bulkhead and a shelf labelled 'Ceremonial light fittings' is above the drawers. Two cable reels, two five gallon drums and a large packing case are on the deck. The packing case is marked 'Magnetic material. CV6087 Valve electronic complete to stowage case. Class group 0621 5960-99-037-2433'. A vertical format negative.
