A roll film negative. On board the Tribal class type 81 frigate Mohawk (1962) in Portsmouth Dockyard. She was in a dry dock from 21 March to 11 April 1972 when she moved to the South Railway Jetty. In the steering gear compartment between 85 and 95 stations on 2 deck. The photographer is looking forward and to starboard from the port side near the forward end. Nests of drawers are against the starboard side with shelves below and above. A control box for the steering motor is on the forward bulkhead and two pairs of shorts are hanging from a deckhead conduit in front of it. To the left of the control box are an automatic emergency lantern, a fire extinguisher and the ladder down from the access hatch leading from the lobby off the junior rate's mess.
