A roll film negative. On board the Tribal class type 81 frigate Mohawk (1962) in Portsmouth Dockyard. She was in a dry dock from 21 March to 11 April 1972 when she moved to the South Railway Jetty. In the steering gear compartment between 85 and 95 stations on 2 deck. The photographer is looking forward and to port from the starboard side at 87 station. Two control boxes for the steering motor, two emergency connection boxes, a grease gun, the ladder down from the access hatch leading from the lobby off the junior rate's mess and a nest of drawers are on the forward bulkhead. A five gallon drum and a plastic bucket are on the deck. The wire cage protecting the steering gear is on the extreme left.
